New and Soon to be Improved

sigh of relief?

So the check for the 2nd of my 3 credit card debts cleared today. Last month, I was doing jumping jacks at the thought of today. The day where my credit will have so many changes due to cards that haven't seen any payment since 2005 now being PAID.

yeah, not so much. In a drastic and characteristically rash move by myself, on YomKippur, I decided to call two agencies and work things out.

Now today is here and as usual, I have none, (n-u-n) money but

how can i put this...

I'm a Bey love/hater. I think compared to what is out there right now -pop wise- she's the best. She has a good voice, nice image, yada yada yada. Lots of ladies love her and guys think she's "hot"; record companies DREAM. She's never in any foolishness, has been dressing impeccably since Mama stopped creating and bedazzling her wardrobe (Bey stays decked in Chanel) and on and on and on. Aside from the drama that came out of D. Child dissolving, Bey has been on the up and up.

What I don't like (cause I am a hater, too) is the formula. Every year, sometime around her B-Day (sept) give or take a month, she puts out something she's been working on for all of 4 weeks. Now granted, "it don't take the whole day to recognize sunshine" but can we get a little more dedication or effort? Oh wait, i guess when you STEAL songs, you don't need to be in the creative process for very long, just long enough to pick out a song you like, as if its an outfit.

The latest? Single Laydees has that same swizzy beat and uh-oh chant/anthem of 'Crazy in Love' and... ummmmm, damn. the one with a whole bunch of missions... pat yo weave, old school dance... drawing a serious blank cause they all run together and sound the same...

time elapsed- 5 minutes

ok, y'all know what song I'm talking about!

I WANT BEY TO SAAAAAAAANG! She's better than a cheesy anthem (how's ashanti's 'good good' doing? *eye roll* can't believe I bought that mess)! We want 'Dangerously in Love' and 'Me, Myself, and I'!! even an 'Irreplaceable' got under my skin!! I can't help but to love and hate (used loosely) her. She's so damn good at what she does. bey is what every pop artist should aspire to be.

Speaking of artists I "hate", that damn Ne-Yo is going to have me buy all his albums!! When he first came on the scene, I scoffed at his "sick of love songs". then I actually listened, got the message and thought he was BRILLIANT. Then every song he's put out has been bomb in my eyes (after riding on it first, of course).

Now someone I don't like for real? LL. Yo, you're an old man. Go sit down somewhere! I think the industry is treating him like an elderly citizen. You're not rude to them despite the fact they're crotchety. You respect them for their contribution to society and let them get away with telling you the saaaaaaaame story about what they used to do when they were our age. over and over again. Its like gospel on soul train, you just don't boo it. you know that his lyrics are wack as the fcuk but it's LL!! He Needs Love!

No, he needs to retire.

I may get some flack for this but I realized something at the Estelle, Gym Class, Roots show last week.

I don't like the Roots.

I tried reeeeeeeeeeally, reeeeeeeeeally hard for as long as I can remember. I think I fell into the whole, "I'm supposed to like them cause I like this kind of music" thing. Kinda like Stuff White People Like: Classical Music. I loved okayplayer back in the day and that's a much love the roots get from me. Oh yeah, their keys man (kamal can get it any day, any time. he actually remids me of drew). i mean, i like the singles that come out (if they do) and when I get the album... it's not the same. Things Fall Apart? Classic, I like. Illadelph? I like. Phrenology? Tipping Point, Game, Rising?? ehhhhh, I tried to like and realize: I don't. Plus, you get an AWESOME live show but obviously, a studio CD is not going to be the same. They just don't do it for me and we left early. we felt so out of touch and had NO EARTHLY IDEA what Thought was talking about. I might as well have been at a loud, cold, lecture given in Chinese.

yeah. like that.

Now your girl Estelle??? That's my chick! I was geeked hearing her sing cause she can!! Little bitty thing is funny too! Had me cracking up! Curses like a true brit, 'wind it up' while singing, and she can blow! Gym Class is bomb too! Must check them out!

Okay, that's my music rant for the day!

hormones are a b!tc#

OMG, *eye roll* what was that about?

i'm still in the same situation I was in over the weekend but now I don't feel as hopeless or devastated. I just KNEW my world was ending this past weekend but mother nature showed up and for some weird reason, everything after that made sense.

there has got to be some kind of medicine to alleviate that mess, I can't be diving into mariana trenches of depression every month like that. cutting off all communication and what not, scaring people, damn near going crazy over something i can't really do anything about.

i love you guys. thank you so much for your words and calls of encouragement. i promise you, the minute i posted, I felt (a tiny bit) better. sometimes, all people need is an ear and I have at least 10.

but, i still can't wait to be out of here. when will this crisis be over? this very valid quarter life crisis where you are most likely, not where you'd like to be, despite the fact, its where you are "supposed" to be? compounded with the fact you don't even know where you want to be or how to get there from where you are. then again, i'm not ready for "the next step" (whatever it is) either. *eye roll* i guess we (royal) will just wallow around in here till May 2009; the last installment of the 'mid twenties' or is that the 1st of the 'late twenties'?

i'll go with the former.

*sigh*

can i tell you how she had a cleaning lady after mini me was gone and before i moved back in?

so... no need for the hired help since the daughter is coming back or what? yeah, no. gon' head and holla back at her.

depressed

I'm thinking, "I need a black bag. Coach. I don't care how much it is." Then I pass by a boutique and pick out what dresses I want thru the window. I got up from bed rather abruptly and hopped in the shower. I scrubbed so hard, I open old scars from the picture that fell on me a while back. I run water thru my hair when I really just want to cut it all off. Its in the way and getting everywhere. Luckily, drew actually cleaned his place and I can't find the scissors. I think i'm hungry so throw on sweat pants and a tee and get breakfast from a shop around the way. Two bites and I realize that's not it. I sit and look at the food and tears start falling. I realize I am unhappy but I don't know why. Cutting my hair, buying everything I see, even food won't answer the question of why I am sad. I realize I don't want to be here. My house is not the place for me and unfortunately, drew's isn't the haven it has been in the past. Then I start BAWLING. I don't want to go home but can't afford to do anything on my own. I can't even afford gas to commute back and forth from Drew's if I wanted to stay with him. Plus my car couldn't take take that daily drive. *sigh*. There is my stream of consciousness post. Log out.

Thursday, October 09, 2008

i'm sad right now

they came home on monday afternoon. i come home from work rather late. the first thing she says when i walk in is, "oooh. the trash is smelling, and has been smelling since i came in. can you take it out?"

so... you've been sitting in this house that suosedly smells and instead of taking it out, you wait for me to come home FROM WORK and take it out?

"oh yeah, i noticed you didn't clean the bathroom this weekend"

*

"...hi to you too mom"

With that said, I am out to the place I call my haven that is sadly/regretfully, not my own home.

Don't Shop While Hungry

BTW: I coied and asted the letter after o for this ost. don't feel like doing it now

I woke up this morning with an agenda.

eat breakfast
wash own hair.

i know this house and decide to look around to see what he have and don't have. Naturally, since I want to wash my hair, we have conditioners for days but no shampoo.

*sigh*

now I have to go to publix and buy some cause I try not to patronize the asian/arab stores who are getting away with highway robbery. also, sallie's is closed.

make a list: shampoo and mushrooms (for brekky)

as I'm driving to the store, I realized I can't find my tweezers and my eyebrows need some help.

shampoo, mushrooms, tweezers.

Wait, I can't have a breakfast souffle with out fresh spinach!

shampoo, mushrooms, tweezers, spinach.

and I'm almost out of salsa

shampoo, mushrooms, tweezers, spinach, salsa.

since i pass the bread aisle to get to the beauty aisle, I might as well pick up some tortillas; I mean, I already have the salsa...

shampoo, mushrooms, tweezers, spinach, salsa, tortillas.

Well what's the point of tortillas if you're not going to make tacos?

shampoo, mushrooms, tweezers, spinach, salsa, tortillas, ground turkey

awww, I'm sure russ and coke would like some bones to chew on

shampoo, mushrooms, tweezers, spinach, salsa, tortillas, ground turkey, beef bones dog treats

ooooh, who doesn't like to be brushed?

shampoo, mushrooms, tweezers, spinach, salsa, tortillas, ground turkey, beef bones dog treats, two in one dog grooming brush.

now i need black beans to make my tacos REALLY good!

shampoo, mushrooms, tweezers, spinach, salsa, tortillas, ground turkey, beef bones dog treats, two in one dog grooming brush, black beans

tweezers, tweezers... oooh. I need a pedicure.

shampoo, mushrooms, tweezers, spinach, salsa, tortillas, ground turkey, beef bones dog treats, two in one dog grooming brush, black beans, pumice stone.

Finally got the tweezers and now i need taco seasoning.

shampoo, mushrooms, tweezers, spinach, salsa, tortillas, ground turkey, beef bones dog treats, two in one dog grooming brush, black beans, pumice stone, taco seasoning.

But wait, the kits are buy one, get one free. down goes the seasoning, black beans, and tortillas, up goes the soft taco and fajita kits! Now i need sour cream.

shampoo, mushrooms, tweezers, spinach, salsa, ground turkey, beef bones dog treats, two in one dog grooming brush, pumice stone, two el paso kits, but one, get one free sour cream.

Cheese, por favor.

shampoo, mushrooms, tweezers, spinach, salsa, ground turkey, beef bones dog treats, two in one dog grooming brush, pumice stone, two el paso kits, but one, get one free sour cream, shredded cheese.

Damn.

If Dorothy Was a "Dancer"

is it that I'm getting older, or are "urban" clothes getting tackier/uglier?

I've never been a fan of baybee fat cause I could get the same look at an XOXO cost (back in the junior clothes days), you know? also, I'd like to think that Ki-Ki would do better than that but really, she's a ghetto fabulous chick (who I love!) so what I was I thinking?

the shoe above... glittery, red, atent leather with a "gold" lift. I am the BIGGEST fan of atent leather! (damn this missing letter!) but not when its mixed with glitter and on its own stage!! that's just SCREAMING 'dancer'!!! Oh but wait, remember when cinderella got down??

by the way, the glitter is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more striking in real life! i had to use my cell to get a shot

while on the subject of shoes, I bought some shoes I've wanted for a while!! for some years, I've wanted blue shoes. I have blue fli flos and that's it. yesterday, I walked in an there they were. size 7.5 navy blue atent leather meve stadden, ee-toe ums!!

DAAAAAAAAAAH!! I want my 'letter after /o/' back!!!

i will take a icture when I get them out of the car. right now, that's far away.

Lucky No. 7

11:17pm

I just realized something.

While sitting, thinking about my past "loves" which were really likes, lusts, conquests and defeats, trying my best to remember every "oooh" and "ahhh" that brought me closer to what I thought would and should be love, thinking about the nonchalance of that summer day to the cool and calculating night of two can play that game, what they meant to me at the time, every emotion from unadulterated joy in knowing that I got him where I want him to the deepest, darkest melancholy blue melodies, seeing that look on his face when he realizes I'm a bad, bad chick or the double take when I pass him by for what he hopes isn't the last time... with all these thoughts and numbers and dates running thru my head; first phone conversations to last text messages, I realized something.

Drew is the black man I've always wanted.

He lifts me up, always. he picks me up when I'm too gone to stand on my own. he compliments my personality in his exact oppositeness. When I cry, he doesn't get scared. When I laugh, he doesn't get insecure. when I shine, he glows. he's not afraid to talk about the future. he's a man without being an asshole. he's sensitive without being a punk. If I have a need, he has made it his MISSION to meet it. he fills out a boxer brief, rocks a button down, and sags his jeans just right.. he loves me so good, so well, so complete...

he is more than ANY of them will ever be.

I cook for Fun

I'm bringing it back to the Tally days when I used to cook for fun and not neccesity. I made the requisite pssgetti (spaghetti. that's what i used to call it.) with tons of veggies, turkey sausage, and ground turkey. While that was simmering, I tossed some bella mushrooms into a pan of hot olive oil and made a breakfast soufle' that consisted of mozz cheese, minced garlic, and fresh spinach leaves. cracked two eggs in that pan and mixed it up. Ate it with crossaints and fresh salsa. Hmmmmm, hmmmm, hmmmm, hmmmm, HMMMMMMM!

Two weeks ago, I did it big in Hole Foods, Aventura. seafood pasta in alfredo sauce made from SCRATCH. That's where I saw Carmindy!! she looks soooooooooo much better in person!! her dark ass eyebrows don't look as dark in real life. anyway, your girl had scallops and two kinds of shrimp in that bi...then I made a ceviche medley with some of the seafood I put aside + tuna. you already know how that came out!

Two days ago, I made peach lemonade. My brother was trying to peep my technique but he made the mistake of turning his back and never got to see how much sugar i put in the pot for a simple syrup. MWA HA HA HA!! My mom who reconstitutes EVERYTHING with water was drinking that thing straight! Do we have a winner??? We do! Next up, raspberry lemonade.

Registry

So as you may or may not know, I will be attending 4 weddings these next four months. The one in october is this couple I wrote about so long ago.

yeah.

But can I tell you when the wedding is??

a tuesday evening.

in jacksonville.

so... even if i leave work an hour early (2pm), I will get there JUST IN TIME (6pm)?!?! Does that mean I have to wear my clothes to work cause I sooooooooo won't have enough time to change!?!? Boy, Kitty and I cussed that boy OWT!!! "WTF is that about?!? who gets married on a Tuesday evening?!!? Naw I ain't coming to that ish!"

But its Mike so we have to go. We love him dearly. Plus, its a post bacc reunion of some sort and is he the first friend of mine to get married?? No, an ex of mine got married like, 4 years ago (sheesh!) Kitty will be missing a once a week lecture and I will miss 1 AND A HALF days of work!!! I'm leaving at noon on Tuesday and taking Wednesday off cause there is no way in hell i'm going to the wedding and reception and driving home only to get to West Palm no earlier than 4am...! we are going to be talking ish the whole time...

2nd wedding is in November. It's actually to a middle/high/college classmate of my bro that i know as well. Very nice fellow, his pops is a doctor friend of my dad, yada yada yada. this one should be cute! its down here in south florida and I think it's going to be outside but NOT at the beach.

3rd wedding is in december.

fave ex's.

*inhale deeply*

am I a starter wife or something!?

naw, it's all good. I am truly happy for him and this is the wedding i'm most excited about!! Fave X is one of my favorite people and he helped me a lot when i transferred to FAM. This one is on the beach in Daytona. on his birthday *eye roll* such a typical move for him. I am mad that that day has been taken though. I was going to use it as mine cause it's the inverse date of loving day. 6/12---> 12/6. oh well, we'll see when that time comes.

4th wedding is in January. and its a girl!!! FINALLY!! she's actually a friend of several friends I have and we got cool. on top of that, we were 'talking' to frat brothers and would see eachother at events. not trying to be mean, but her wedding website is a mess. Full of speech and syntax errors. It's like it was a 'stream of consciousness post'; justa typing what came to mind!

now that the weddings have been outlined, let me address the title of this post.

You can tell a lot about a person by their registry, don't you think? registry is at JCPenny's as opposed to bloomingdales or even macy's? k-mart or crate and barrel? sears or williams sonoma?

i feel like that's 220 thread count vs. 800. I'm not being a snob or elitist or anything, I just want your honest opinion.

this is weird

how is it that i am living at home and have less money than when i was on my own? i so don't get it.

maybe this economy is really starting to hit me. things that were once $3.59 are now $5.03 (pu.blix choc chip cookies, 36 count). something that was once $3.89 is now $4.09 (6 pc mighty meal from micky d). Now i am the type of person to close my eyes and continue to buy these things despite their increase cause what is my other option? not eat?? when it comes to food, i spare nothing.

gas caught my ass off guard though. i'm not a cash person and now these people want to have one price advertised and another at the pump if you use your card. a whole dime difference. that ish adds up!!!!

of course these are just little examples of a way bigger picture. i don't want you all to think i'm complaining about the econ cause cookies are a dollar fifty more.

to give myself a pat on the back, since i'm not paying rent, i've SERIOUSLY tackled the... financial mistakes i made while in school. mbna down, citi and bank of usa to go. *sigh* they really should have credit card seminars in highschool and during freshman orientation. i do remember hearing a brief lil somethin somethin in university 101 at HU, but that was a flash of info and not important to whatever else i was doing... what was I doing? i was taking in all the different people. picking up accents and styles; being on my own for the very first time since a brownie (girl scouts) camping trip. anyway, i don't like not having as much money as i used to but i do realize i got myself io this mess and i have to get myself out.

i had to talk to myself; outloud, as i was leaving narnes and boble. i was passing by the g a p, nabana republic, gbcb, kenn cole, a whole SLEW of clothing stores that I KNEW i'd find something cute in. I was like, "no... no... keep moving, focus, budget, you don't need anything, move"

*sniffle* i feel like a junkie.

another good thing, i'm saving and investing like a futhermucker. well, i've added another company to my portfolio and then i reinvested in the stock i've had for years. hop on an IRA and my financial port should be complete.

i would do all this right when the market is about to collapse... oh well

can i say i'm "getting my life together" here? LOL La's monkey ass went to church on all of us and i can't help but to send that link to all my girls. like jameil was saying, every three months, we need that wake-up call that we are actually where we are supposed to be, no matter where everyone else is.

here it is:
i am a kindergarten teacher who's a tad bit broke for several reasons.
i'm unmarried, 26, and live at home with my parents.
i've been best friends with my boyfriend for 12 years and we've been dating for 21 months.
some days, i wish i was married to him already
other days (weekends!!) I can't imagine even living with him!
i am totally happy with the aforementioned.
quarter life crisis has been temporarily assuaged

but holla at me in december!

new author

I need a new one to delve into. My favorite author is G.G. Marquez and I'm almost done with everything he's ever done :-( Daaaah. that's sad. I know when the end of an era is coming. Well, I've been reading him since freshman year in highschool so I think 10+ years is an okay run. My fave book is still 100 Years :-)

Where is my NativeSon? I started reading that and got lost in his foreword about Bigger. That thing could've been a novella by itself!! I do like the way Wright writes; seems like I'm reading a play with all the dialogue. Speaking of which, I guess I could start reading plays hardcore again. I love TheElephantMan: APlay and of course DeathofaSalesman. There are a handful of typical Shakespeare's plays that I would read again, starting with the one I saw performed (Midsummer's); Macbeth, Hamlet, etc. While on that subject, have you heard of R&C are Dead? OMG, great read after Hamlet!! Oooh, anything by Dante is good for me! Let's gone 'head and get the whole comedy! I've only read Inferno and was thoroughly engrossed. Imagine how nice Paradiso would be???

Ooh, I think Kiss is my favorite play. That one was GOOOOOOOOOOOD! I recommend that HIGHLY! I love it cause it's world lit, meaning it was translated into English!!

Okay, nevermind. I have tons to catch up on!

OMG

So can I tell you about the party Dreezy played at this past Saturday? The one I had a photoshoot in his bathroom for?? As you may or may not have read from Twitter, the budget for drinks alone was at least $10,000. countless bottles of Pan Sellegrino and Acqua di..., blush moet champagne, black label j. dubs, goose...

the dance floor was over the limestone pool and it lit up; Billy Jean style. Okay, okay; it had colored squares.

the floral arrangements EVERYWHERE were white roses, orchids, lillies, chrysthanteums and bamboo.

the house was RI-DIC-U-DAM-LOUS. They hired valet to park the refarris, sameratis, porches (lol)...

THERE WAS A FREAKING STEIN.WAY AND SONS GRAND PIANO IN THE ART PARLOR!! I would hyperlink but they don't even show prices on the website. I will go ahead and tell you:

$100,000

there were carved ivory tusks that i reeeeeeeeeeally think came from woolly mammoths. i tried to look that up and "potentially harmful information" was a warning. no thanks. then there was a high relief carving of the adoration of the magi. Drew and I came to the conclusion that when Jesus was born, there was a Bethlehem sculptor there who used Jesus' manger wood to mark the event, right? That piece of art was in that house. We would bet MONEY that it was an ancient relic; some Holy Grail type ish. There were various art pieces by big names of all sizes thruout but we were looking for one artist to let us know this was the real deal house. And of course, we found it.

A Picasso.

but not just any picasso

a picasso made out to the owner.

'Por Jorge'

We saw the inscription done in oil paint and wondered, "Who is George?" Oh, the answer rang out from the kitchen when a woman called out, "George!!!! Where is the key to the wine room?!!?"

*shaking my head.*

The wine room that is the size of your apartment?? Shut off by a wrought iron gate from someone's castle in colonial portugal??

I know I mentioned the limestone pool + patio, but you guys aren't from florida and didn't take Florida history in 4th grade. Limestone is basically marine organism shells that have conglomerated into a reef.

AKA fossils.

their freaking patio/pool was made of limestone!!!! Conquistadors used limestone to build their fortresses. the pyramids are made of limestone!!!! cathedrals and churches from the middle ages were built from limestone!!! If you see something "made" of limestone today, its just a thin sheet used as a facade. Did I tell you that limestone recrystallized into marble??

Speaking of marble, they had granite SLABS as ottomans and tables! and you know how on cribs, people brag about having brazillian cherry wood for their kitchen cabinetry?

These people had it as their deck.

i can't.

and the landscape on this property...

i need to get in good and have the most beautiful wedding/reception on their land. i took pictures and can only cry and the UNjustification my camera did to the place. let me just say that F. Gardens is in THEIR neighborhood

I don't even want to talk about the food that was the best I've eaten.

people are LIVING.

LIVING NICE.

This is in the same area as Merrick Park. Remember that place where women wear DVF just to run errands and tweens wear Juicy to go to the mall?

all i can say is, "it must be so nice."

but then again, I don't know what they did for that and what they are going thru right now. on the outside, the family is so happy but the man might be having a blatant affair and the woman can be anorexic. the children are all doped up on adderall and are raiding mommy's medicine cabinet when she's knocked out on pain meds and cosmos. for all i know, daddy could be gay but stays married cause cuban catholics wouldn't have it any other way. yeah that ring was 8 carats vvs, but did she get it out of love or kobe style??? idk and will never know. i do know one of their neighbors is Phillips. As in the family of that man.

so the other OMG of this post is, I almost died tonight.

I come home from school and I lie on my bed to chat with drew. i get up to marinate some chicken wings for which I will HAVE to post on record dish cause those were the best wings I've EVER had!!! (toot, toot... that's my horn). I decide to get some water and return to my room and lie on my sister's bed. on this bed, after my mom had a hissy fit about where to put her painting, we put this piece that's basically a compilation of african stamps. mounted on red and green, in a black frame and behind glass. Now why someone would put the ONE art piece behind glass on a headboard is besides me... I lie down and the piece comes crashing down on me. Mind you, this is a 3'x3' piece (damn I wish i was on a mac and had wifi.) so 36 inches by 36 inches of glass breaks on me. I SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAM cause large pieces are in my leg and arm and smaller pieces are everywhere else. I don't want to move to agitate anything. My dad wakes up and comes running into the room; he lifts the piece and Stan comes running in to take the pieces off of me. two cuts on my leg are streaming blood and I see white meat on my arm. that blood is coming out so thin and runny; all the fingertips on my left hand are tingling cause i know i have microscopic pieces of glass in them. the cuff of the quarter length sleeve dress I was wearing is absorbing what my right arm is pumping and my bedroom slippers are catching what's coming from my right leg. daaaaaaaah. this was my 1st time wearing this dress!!

but have i told how this house is?? how we have peanut butter, no jelly? kool aid, no sugar? cereal, no milk? ham, no burger?

we had triple antibiotic and no band-aids.
cotton balls, no alcohol.

and on that note, i'm out.

chemical burn

I suffered one on the side of my face; right near my hair line. That relaxer is no joke but you already know my mantra, "beauty is pain"

Nevertheless, here are some pics from my photoshoot in Drew's bathroom :-)

showing off the earrings I got from Xpress.  I never thought I'd buy costume jewelry but it looks good!!

Semi-Candid. I took too long to pose. But it looks good.

Got this apple charm from Drew.  Rubies with an emerald leaf.  He likes it cause it has both our birthstones.  WORKS FOR ME!!

This looked cool when I took it and now it looks kind of scary...

in a cool way.

Yes We Can!

you know I'm trying to teach her the "fist bump" right?

Wednesday, September 10, 2008

but wait, there's more!

more crappery that is.

i called the union. he apparently has been getting hella calls from our school and called the area head honcho to find out what's going on with excessing. the area guys asks him where he got his information from cause according to their offices, my school is looking to GAIN units and NOT excess any!!

brrrrr?!

the fcuk??

so..... why would the principal ask if anyone wants to leave, let her know in TWO mediums? (white board and memo in the mailbox)

why would the team leader tell us that the super wants to excess 4 and she (prin) wants to lose 1?

why have FIVE people now volunteered to be excessed???

as my former girl used to say, "What kind of fcukery is this?"

sing, Amy! I was rocking her so hard yesterday... matter of fact, let's rock out some more. just no coke. I'm not that much of a rockstar (Rashan!! lol)

T.I.

I'm feeling him right now.

1st of all, his new song featuring 'Ye, Jay, Wayne is OFF THE FUTHERMUCKING CHAIN! and it uses a line from M.I.A's Paper Planes

No-one on the block has swagger like us
but for real, that first released album, I'm Serious is so me right now.
I
AM
SERIOUS.
If things don't fall into place, I'm out.
on a lighter note, i was looking up cities that have an Ikea nearby!!

annoyed

as much as i love football, I see why women in relationships despise it. yesterday was the miami florida game, today miami jets followed by cleveland dallas... i watched college and wasn't up to football today. drew went to his neighbors and watched brett farve do his thing then he came back to his place to check on me. we were hanging out when he realized he left pookie outside. A WHOLE FOOTBALL GAME LATER, he calls to check up on me. how long was that? an hour after he left, i left for west palm. i was actually home before he realized I left!! what happened to getting pookie?!! whatever.

next point of annoyance.

it was ass crack of dawn when i was getting ready to go to work. fresh out the shower, clothes on, I'm bout to step out the door when my mother says, "don't forget to take out the trash"

record scratched

"do what??"

take out the trash.

::blink:blink::

"mom, i don't do trash. and what did u mean by, "don't forget" like its my job?? when have i EVER taken out the trash? i do dishes and laundry, no trash."

so who is supposed to do it?

"I don't know!! i don't do trash and plus i'm about to go to work!

Needless to say, I am not as rude/gangsta as my brother or sister and I ended up taking the trash; pissed off than and futhermucker! I am still fuming about that shit. My mom is and has been a bully and I don't like it. plus she is hypercritical which I know has led me to my carefree attitude about everything. no matter how hard you try, it doesn't matter so why bother? pearls for a birthday get critized. shoes for christmas are met with a grimace... ooooh! while the parents were in tally checking up on mini me's finances, my brother and I pulled a while u were out. we re-arranged, we cleaned, we de-cluttered, we made our house look the way it is supposed to look. that thing was looking so good and like a place you'd invited someone to, not the giant air conditioned storage unit it was looking like for the past couple of years. pops came in and was amazed! he was like, "oh wow! oh my gosh! is this our house? Damn, we should go away more often! you guys are amazing!!" what did mom do? she got upset that we moved a painting of hers to a better location. she actually raised hell about her raggedy ass picture my dad painted of her. (its not raggedy. its actually bomb. my daddy gets it from his daddy) the pics have been off the walls for the past three weeks since we got the walls painted. you could've put them up anyway u wanted. afterall, this is your house. when stan and I finally get tired of looking at boxes of pics and paintings and do something about it, u get into a screaming match about your picture. fcuk the fact that we polished all the Damn cherrywood pianos, armoires, leather furniture, cleaned the crystal and polished the dining table and chairs!! so pissed. still so pissed.

so that's why i haven't posted in a while. plus i am not liking my job and I am actually trying to leave by excess. pray that i can leave the torture of my job. you're not supposed to hate your profession.

I'm Jealous

yeah, i said it.

i

am

jealous!

i am on bacefook looking at pics of my sister's first game (SHE STUCK ALL HER STUNTS!! HEEL STRETCH AND ALL!!!!) when I stumble across a classmate's profile.  Actually, I was side tracked by his status that said his name means 'el nino' in laotian or something like that.  So Jus is in Malay??  Cool, I guess.  I read his wall and its filled with other classmates saying things like,

"don't forget to hit up phuket" or

"i'm in kuala lumpor for the next 8 months, hit me up" or

"check out the geological genitalia in samui" or

"get out of phuket and go to koh phangan" and

"must do cambodia"

word?? that's how we get down in the streets??  we just take trips to asia like its nothing?  has EVERYONE who was not black at suncoast high school been to malaysia/cambodia/laos?  so right after college, we just do like the sun also rises and see where the wind takes us??   hmmmm, i feel like lounging in thailand today.  or  i think i'll go fishing in spain today or  i wonder what crossaints in france taste like?  I looked to see what they are doing professionally and none of them have jobs!!

'Dad, I want to spend 6 months in Vietnam'

'OK, son, make sure you take lots of pictures and have a good time.  This is a twice in a lifetime experience. I'll set up a job for you at the practice when you come back.  Or I can get you a stockbroker job on the Street. a buddy of mine owes me a favor, you remember Mr Cooper, right?'

ugh i'm reeling. i haven't been jealous since highschool.

I WANT TO TRAVEL THE WORLD FOR FUN!!!

speaking of well to do, has anyone ever watched bald'win hills???  I THOUGHT THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE BLACK VERSION OF THE HILLS!!!!!!!!!! IT SOOOOOOOOOOO ISN'T!!!  That raggedy ass show in the "hills" of L.A.; right outside compton or wherever the fcuk they are... please. I was soooooo not impressed with the two episodes I watched with my sister!! OMG, thoroughly disappointed.  If that's all it takes to be considered, whatever they consider themselves, SIGN ME UP! links luncheons before i knew who they were!! how long have i been in politics?  ron brown came to our house for dinner with city commissioners in tow. and invited us to the DNC. pharmacists, general counsel for giant entities, medical doctors, lead engineers for siemens... maaaaan, please.  no one on the block has swagger like us.

you know what though? if you're really about anything, you wouldn't be on B.E.T.

Rant over.

R.A.B

random ass blog

can we talk about her children's names?? track, trig, bristol, willow, and piper?? is anyone going to talk about that?

how normal can someone from alaska be? i'm NOT saying there aren't normal people there but...

maybe I am.

i'm just thinking of the movie insomnia and how 6 months of light drove pacino crazy. granted, he wasn't from there. also, i know they pay people CRAZY money to work/live in alaska so it only makes me wonder

its been said that this is either the most brilliant political move ever or the opposite. i was hoping that mccain thought, women would be simple enough to jump on his bandwagon since hillary is out of the pic, yet see right thru is ploy and vote in droves for obama cause mccain tried their lives. *whew!* did you catch that? I think, he thinks women are stupid. but then again, he's a republican. those are the craftiest people on the face of the earth and i'm almost scared to see how this will unfold.

look up judges, chapter 4. barack will come with ten thousand and destroy an army. its in the Word!!

i have a headache. i drank a glass of cheap red wine and then i had a shot after my dad's party. ask me if i drank anything the whole of yesterday besides the aformentioned.

nope. head hurts.

so glad its a 3-day weekend. i think we should make it a federal law to have them every other week. 3 day weekends are the best thing since books

ummmm, i have pics to post but for some reason, my bro has my camera. its been a looooooooong weekend! i did get a chance to hang out with drew on friday and we went to this bomb restaurant in brickell (a district of miami), florida. its a japanese-pan latin restaurant with this craaazy ceviche sampler of lobster-mango, tuna and some herb, salmon-edemame, and yellowtail-avocado. awe.some.

okay. i need to lie down for a minute or two. my weekend isn't over and i want to go to hollywood. ttyl

Check my eye-work... eh, not the same as footwork.

American Apparel gone wrong

But they shole is fun! Pink pants kept on saying "I'm in heaven" and green pants said, "oh yeah, you like that girl"

Who has ever heard of a storm that did NOT weaken over land!?!? She has been chillin HARD CORE in Florida for a week!! Last week at this time, school was cancelled in south florida! why are you wrecking havoc in north florida, ak, and AL?!?!?

whoa. tangent over.

so yeah, i have tons of pics coming soon! a couple of them are very artistic so be inspired to find art wherever you are!

Monday, August 18, 2008

*smile*

So you know I'm a teacher and I've been out of school since June 5th...

WHY AM I TOO GLAD THAT SCHOOL HAS BEEN CANCELLED FOR TOMORROW!?!?!

I was upset that broward and dade counties closed today and tomorrow and I know the only reason why palm beach closed was b/c the two counties NORTH of us cancelled!! But guess what!?!?

I DON'T CARE!!!

Now on the flip side, I do feel bad that a hurricane is the reason why school is out. I know they leave nothing but devastation wherever they hit; I personally think one can NEVER be fully prepared for a hurricane... you can have all the water and batteries in the world...

damn, now I'm sad.

while on the sad note, I called drew around midnight. I was dead ass asleep and something came over me. I felt like I was wasting my youth and God-given talent. we always talk about making a change and I KNOW I am but I want to do it on a more meaningful level. I feel the need to leave the country and go to where destitution is a way of life, not a part of town. I did apply to Teach For Africa last year and chickened out at the last minute. I never sent the completed app in. So blessed/spoiled, I couldn't imagine being in Africa for more than a month. Then it hit me as I was crying on the phone that if I don't do it now, when will I ever do it? Not when I've put in 10 years and have been settled in my position. Not when I'm a mom of an elementary school aged child. When? I need to do it now while I'm unmarried and have no kids, just started my career and I'm young and resilient enough to handle what may come my way.

just a thought.

also, it makes me "hate" angie jolie even more. freaking ambassador.

It's The Most...

wonderful time... of the year!

That's a Stap.les commercial.  It shows a dad riding on a shopping cart throwing school supplies in it; joyfully skipping and picking up notebooks... then you see the kids in the background looking like, "yeah? it's the most wonderful time of the year?  bet."

I am kind of excited to go back to school but all the preparation is stressing me out.  Word walls, behavior charts, number lines, random ass posters of bears wearing certain colors, rules, code of conduct, center signs...

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!

Nevertheless, I will do what I got to do before "Meet the Teacher" on Thursday night and work it out from now till June.

180 days left

Friday, August 08, 2008

I'm late

I meant to do a Thursday 13 but I had too many things to do today and never got around to doing the list. Its barely Friday so how bout this, Friday Fourteen?

damn. I forgot what I was going to do my list on. Okay 14 things i'm obsessed with.

1. patent leather
I got a winter white mupa grip bag in patent leather. I bought some flat mary janes in black, red pumps and gray d'orsay peep toes. Let's not talk about the shoes I already own cause the aforementioned were bought in D.C. this past week. I bought the bag to have something to carry my overflow luggage... yeah. Seeing how I'm a person of few patterns, I let my solids talk with their texture. The slickness of PL has always piqued my interest.

2. judaism
no, that's not why I'm with Drew. I am obsessed with knowing who is Jewish, what percentage of hollywood is Jewish (shia leboeuf, natalie portman, joan rivers, michael douglas, etc), synagouges (I saw a chinese one in D.C and Drew told me that there are Chinese Jews!!!!!), all their rites and rituals, Maccabi World, oh yeah, have you heard of Jewbans? Prolly not cause you're not from Miami. a Jewban is a Cuban who is Jewish. That synagouge was CRAZY! I like trying to classify the Jewish people I know as either Sephardic, Ashkenazi, or Mizrahi Jew...

okay, let me stop

3. dirt under my nails
you'd think I'd keep my nails short but, I won't. so, I take whatever piece of paper is lying around, fold it up a couple of times and go to work under my nails. if that isn't the case, i use my own nails and flick the crud off when I'm done. Its usually from scratching my scalp that I get gunk in my nails. All that hair grease and product...

4. taking pictures.
you kinda know that already. i take my camera EVERYWHERE and take pics of everything. I may take several pics of the same thing but I don't care. Maybe I want a flipbook effect of a baby eating a cupcake, thankyouverymuch!

5. facebook
do I really need to explain this one? i live for being in peoples' lives without being a perp. i love looking at their pics (duh) and just seeing what's going on. You can find out soooooooooooo much by a status update or mini feed. you see weddings, births, funerals, school, graduations, LIFE!

6/7. diane von f./wrap dresses
she's my latest obsession. so far, my collection includes an orange suitcase, a vase tote, and a scarf. you know what? this number should've been wrap dresses. the universally flattering piece of clothing that EVERY WOMAN should own! wrap dresses are the 'oh baby' MAC lip lacquer of dresses, EVERY WOMAN SHOULD OWN ONE! but without DVF, we wouldn't have wrap dresses.

8. celebrity gossip.
i get it from my momma. she used to -wait-still watches entert. tonite religiously and I know i've been knowing abt celebrities since i was at least 6 y.o. but, i LOOOOOOVE black gossip. true, i do hit up OMG! on yahoo to see what who was wearing where and why.

9. fashion
i know you'd think this is a given for any woman but it really isn't. what not to wear and instyle, red carpet shows and the rundowns that follow for the next week, anything that has to do with wearing something is all me. not reeeeeeally into designers that much, I just like seeing the color, texture, print, shape that whoever used for whomever.

10. sushi
you have no idea. its been since december 2006 that it was introduced into my life and the ONLY time i haven't eaten it AT LEAST ONCE in a calendar week was when I went to Ghana. and that's only cause i couldn't look up a restaurant online from out house in the mountains. by the time we were hanging downtown at internet cafes, it was time to go. i'm sure that fish would've been BOMB AS HELL!

11. ceviche.
maybe i should've done a raw fish number.... I LOVE CEVICHE!! I had some key west pink shrimp, alaskan salmon, and scallops from whole foods the other day... threw some lime and red onion in that b!tc#...

OMG, I'm salivating. i think it may overcome sushi this year

12. texting
if i could "talk" to you using my thumbs, I would. it sucks that most people i talk to aren't texters... well drew is. joy, need a new best friend? jameil's phone charges her $7,390 per text so she yells at me :-(

13. angelina jolie.
i have a love hate relationship with her. i think she's pretty but i don't see the big deal, my lips are that big! she's supposedly a freak but why can't she be liberated? she's adopted kids and had her own and looks good all the while.

SHE HAD TWINS!! I WANT TWINS!! SHE HAD KIDS WITH BRAD PITT! AND THEY ARE SO DAMN CUTE!!!
Poor Jenny.

I'm done.

14. sweats/gray
i'm not letting them go. i have gotten better in not wearing them EVERYWHERE. I'm trying to impress my boyfriend by looking good all the time for no reason (mom hint). he likes dresses so i copped a couple from forever 21... it takes just as long to throw on a cutesy dress as it does to put on sweats.
as for gray, i reaaaaaaaally want my wedding dress to be gray. i want my wedding to have gray as a color but, its considered such a drab color. plus i am such a BRIGHT and CHEERY person that gray for my most joyous occassion seems paradoxical (or is it oxymoronic?). mom thinks i should have a gray sash but that's not the same *pout*

Okay, that's it. must go to bed now. i got a trip to go on! O-Town, here we come!

D.C was Great!

2nd day there with my cousins

Pom Marg in a SHORT TUMBLER!!!!

My pulled chicken dish that doesn't look appetizing, was aight, and too expensive

B-Day girl and I at Rosa Marg

The next day, before LOVE

The beginning of the end. still smiling although two on the right look RIGHT!

Those drinks were RIGHT!! It was later explained to me that white bartenders know better than to serve wack ass drinks to black patrons!

Yes. that's a whole jean outfit.  if we ride on MJB for still wearing them joints, what makes you think you're EXEMPT!?!?

The next day, on our way to POSH, an upscale lounge

In front of POSH

Inside.  Really nice spot.

Dinner with my aunt and unc at an ital. pizzeria

I'm not going to talk about how Z-Jay was not seen in the spot and he didn't even "bless" the mic.  Booooooo.  Straight goons and groupies in that spot.  Plus it was in the hood?!!? RIGHT next to a fish market smelling like thrown up sushi!?!? Flip flops and shorts?!!?  No ma'am.  I will say this, inside is really nice. Now Posh was bomb.  Although the drinks could've been better... but with no cover and people dressed to impress, I sooooo didn't complain (or pay!)

DRAMA

There's lots of it in the family. One thing the mom has said, for as long as I can remember, "Don't marry into a big family."

The dad is one of twelve. Different peronalities; favorites... compound that with children, wife, and his own life... lots of shit going on.

Someone is about to snap.

I hear it from both sides and I don't know who makes more (or less) sense. I talk to the mom and I'm appalled at the actions of the dad. I talk to the dad and think the mom needs to chill the fcuk out.

Now I'm here listening and I hear Scrappy being channeled, You on't want know no problems...

That damn BET.

YES!

The babies are gone. No, I really didn't have babies here but... I was pretty much watching my cousins who came down from New York by way of Ghana. Their dad (my uncle) is a vet in BK and they dropped down here for a few days while I was here. Seeing how my aunt, uncle, and cousin are at work for most of the day, I was a chauffeur and chaperon since Tuesday.

Well today, I'm bout to WILE OUT!!! Okay, not really but, I am going to lunch with a classmate and then tonight, LOVE for the birthday girl!! So excited and upset at the same time. Teeny has planned this for about a month and then as of last week, Z-Jay's camel looking behind decides to show up. Now the VIP that would've cost $300 has jumped up to $2500. That so isn't happening anymore!! we're going to be civilians tonight, but fly looking ones!

Sidenote: I'm watching the To.day show and I just the warmest segment!! The Purple Hea*rt Cruise!! OMG, I love it!!

So yeah, I'm leaving here Tuesday, gotta get my tourist on ASAP! I mentioned S'mithsonian to my teen cousins and they looked at me like, "yeah, no. let's go to the mall" Can I tell you about the mall that had Target as a dept. store?? We spent entirely too much time in CJ Penny and I tried to take pics of clothes that further cemented my dislike for that store. I need a memory card for my new phone, there wasn't enough memory for the garbage I saw in there. and the shoes!!!!!!! Lord, help me! *ugh* One thing I hate: ugly shoes. Ugly, bo-bo looking, fake material having shoes. Faux wood, fake cork, simulated leather... dresses made with acrylic... AAHHHHHHH! LET ME STOP!! I'M HAVING A FASHONISTA NIGHTMARE!!

There was a DSW across the way... I copped some pearlescent red patent-leather (PL)pumps by Wine Nest. I see why Jameil loves them so. I saw some gray PL peep toe, d'orsay pumps by my fave designer (steve mad) but thought, As much as I LOVE gray, I only have gray tees. I'm hard pressed to find a jazzy dress in gray, or even a button down. I think i'll go back and get them just based on principle.

Okay, I'm off Teeny's apt! She saved me a piece of Coldstone cake! We were going to eat it at Mosa Rexicana but... there was a $5 per person cutting cake fee. Even if we cut it ourselves. No thanks, the restaurant was already pricey. Yo, I spent $30 on two chicken soft tacos and a little margarita! Aren't margs 'sposed to be in these ginormous glasses?? Ours were in short tumblers. But back to the tacos. Just pulled chicken and tortillas. Can't get no pico de gallo? ($4)? Can't get no lettuce? Nothing. I will say it was topped with a green cheese sauce that almost made it an enchilada, but still. My favorite part of my dish was the fresh and abundant cilantro.

Sidenote: Watching Today's Talk. Why do people dislike Kathy Lee?? She is huh-larious to me!!! So Obama might be too thin to be prez?? Okay Fat Nation where kids are more likely to die before their parents!!! We should be more like him!! A housewife from TX tinks Obama should put on more weight and then she'll vote for him. How ignorant do you sound??? Let me go. Bye y'all
