Fest Groupies

so Dreezy was here for the weekend and as a joke, we said, "Let's go to India Fest 2007!" we went to downtown west palm beach and partook in the Indian cuisine. unfortunately, the audio wasn't up to par so we missed out on dances and music. saw a couple of people we know but honestly didn't have a good time. it was a "whatever" time. we got out the house. that was saturday.

on sunday, we looked through the paper and saw "Street Painting Fest" from 10am -6pm. So there! now that was BOMB!!! OMG, if i wasn't an ed major and could pick whatever major I wanted, i'd be an art history major!!! i LOVED that class which was a requirement for elem ed and took the 2nd part along with ancient civ art and american art. those are the only text books, i kept! anyway, we had a blast seeing familiar and unfamiliar art. the great wave is a fave of his and i have blank cards with japanese art on them including the great wave. love it. ooooh!!! you know the cover for prince's 'rainbow children' LP?? yeah, that artist also did field mob's 'from tha roota to tha toota' and the 'violator' covers. he was soooo there!!! and sooooo cute!! with his freckled self!! cbasi (i'm drawing a blank on his last name)

so yeah, we've decided to hit up 49 more fests this year. we went to canada fest three weeks ago in broward; this past weekend was india and street painting fest, this weekend is marley/carribean fest and we missed greek fest. ow!

random day

1. i must commend you bloggers who work, post, and comment here on our lovely blogger.

i do want to apologize for my sporadic posting and nil commenting... i'm still getting into the swing of things and when u have an MM who thinks you spend too much time on the PC -no matter how much time you spend on there- its kinda hard to post, read, and comment. i ALMOST miss the school daze i used to live in. would i go back? in a heartbeat. but, this is the best semester

i'm lying.

2nd semester at HU was bomb FOLLOWED by this semester. this is the most drama free

i'm lying.

MM is drama that is constant as opposed to 'he said/she said' drama of collegiates and professors acting like OTHER professors haven't given us a ton of homework.

homework. such a cute term. i actually liked homework. gave me something to do. i am really a good student! its just that damn attending class thing that gets in the way...

so yeah, kudos to those of you who post and live at the same time. me and X will get out bloggers lives together soon.

2. i got a new phone

yes, this is my 3rd one in... 6 months and no, i'm not a drug dealer. just trying to grow up little by little. dreezy sent me some links for phones and services i should look into. last night, walked into sam's club with $5 for some water, walked out with a pink razor from t-mobile. i would put my number out here but i don't know it. also, toni, i tried to put you in my fave five but i think i have the wrong number! i have a 'toni' and i have a 'k' as faves and none of them are you. not a good look.

3. valentine's day

is everyday for me. i went to a lounge where Dreezy was playing for v-day. fell asleep during the 1st set and almost died from 2nd hand smoke in the 2nd set. when i got back to his place, i had one of the (red) shirts from the GAP on my pillow :-)
mine says ado(red). i was like, "ado red? aDO red? i don't get it" he replied "my little blond, you're adored"

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! thanks Dreezy!!! seeing how i got my hair done, roses, and some earrings over the weekend, wednesday was just another day. OMG, I must share pix of my class! if you're on facebook, knock yourself out!

but at least i can comb it!

daniQ warned about dominicans doing hair... was in aventura over the weekend (the city just south of hollywood) and i SWEAR swear the D.Repub version of Charo was doing my hair!! fake eyelashes and nails to boot. 1st of all, she parted my hair in like, 10 sections; i looked like a haitian in elementary school. she relaxed each part and rinsed each part. it took 2.5 hours to do my whole head. she thought i was joking when i told her i need sensitive scalp. i was crying on 10 separate occasions this past sunday. she also thought 'medium' would work on my hair. i saw she bust out a brand new jar of 'coarse' when she finished the 1st one...one jar for just the bottom half of my hair...

BREAK IT OUT BITCH! THIS IS 100% AFRICAN GRADE!

so we finally make it to the shampoo bowl to for real neutralize and shampoo my entire head cause before, as stated before, she was just rinsing. shit was still processing and shit. and she says i need a deep hydrating conditioner. fine. whatever. i know my hair is black hay. we work that out and proceed to the cut. i supposedly need the back chopped off.

i HATE hairdressers.

i really do.

cut and then a roller wrap that turns into blow dry with the brush white girls use to curl their hair... so after chemicals burn, i get thermal burned several times with the blowdryer and metallic brush. i ask myself this question every 5-8 weeks:

why do i relax my hair again?
so thinking about cluizel, jameil, and madam the ENTIRE time...

mind you, this was after the fiasco of NOT getting my hair done as scheduled on saturday at 4pm. i left the salon in tears from emotional distress of my dreams being dashed over a 2 hour wait. yeah, drew had to leave his rehearsal to come get me AND.... the reason why i was crying is cause i was on my shit and didn't have any advil. so, i'm all hypersensitive and i just KNEW the hairdresser didn't want to do my hair :-( andrew is all with the, "we are not crying in my car. please stop crying! oh gosh" i didn't mean to fluster him but i couldn't help it! i told him to take out his clippers and cut it ALL off next time! i've done it before...

i seriously have a love/hate relationship with my hair. so not healthy.
