Terra Hades

it all started this morning. I had that familiar contraction feeling and looked at my biological clock app. It has NOT been 32 days, you have got to be kidding me. Grrrrr... whatever the case I also remembered the outfit Cardo picked out for me and was thinking how those pants would work today. I already wanted to veto either the top or the bottom but, it's a challenge, gotta take the good with the bad.

I showered, dressed, and hit the road. i left earlier than usual so the lights were in my favor. Cool, park in my spot and thought to tidy up a bit. If I take one thing out of the car, it will be that much cleaner. Let me take this sweet tea outta here. Reach for the cup and *SWOOOOOOSH!* SWEET FUTHERMUCKING TEA ALL OVER MY ABS AND DEFINITELY IN MY LAP!!! I can't believe this! I step out of the car in hopes some of the liquid will drain into the street and I know I hollered "Fcuk my futhermucking life!" (but the real words). This can't be life right now. Now i'm standing and looking at the sweet tea soak into the drivers seat... OMG, Not cool. Okay, calm down, you have a whole closet in your trunk. I pop the trunk and get a beach towel, some yoga pants and a white tee. I try and soak up some tea from my seat but realize my clothes aren't getting any drier. Leave the towel in the seat and head to campus. My feet are slipping and sliding in the patent leather wedges Cardo picked out. Gotta get out of these too, they def won't go with yoga pants.

I change, slip into my crocs, and the day begins. It's okaaaay aside from my-uterine-region-letting-me-know-it's-still-here-and-would-like-something-to-occupy-its time and me wearing-the-clothes-I-tease-other-teachers-about *sarcasm*... then I remember pre-k is coming to visit. OMG, I have to bring out totally different centers that are age appropriate! My children are reading and writing novels! They do puzzles of dinosaur scenes! let me find some ABC puzzles and two word sentence books for their visit *grumble, grumble*

As you can imagine, the babies coming in reminded me of the WORST time of the school year... I ALWAYS forget how they come to us!!! I ALWAYS for get that they have to learn how to do EVERYTHING!!! I ALWAYS forget they don't know how to read or write! They were in a center for 5 minutes and wanted to move onto the next thing, one started crying cause the group she was paired with didn't do to library center, another one was determined to do spiderman... LAAAAAWWWWDDDD!!!

They left and my uterus REALLY started showing it's ass! Normally, the out of controlness is every other month. I have one bout it ovary who spits out eggs I'm sure will be HELLIONS once they are fertilized and I have the other one who is cool. Not this time. Cool Side wanted to be rebellious. She wanted to let me know, "Hey! I'm not going to be ignored anymore! Take THAT!" *JUDO CHOP* "and THIS!" *KAH-RAH-TAY KICK* "annnnnnnnnd FINISH HERRRRRR!" *NON-STOP RAPID FIRE PUNCHES*

Yeah, I had to take a knee. Then two knees. Then I just fell over. Some child brought me a pillow and I was laid out on the reading rug. I was moaning, I was whimpering, I was trying to find a comfortable position. I got into the fetal position "Ms. K I can see your back tattoo!!" I laid on my back, "Ms. K, I can see your star tattoo!! My mommy has a tattoo on her stomach!" The 600 mg of advil I took an hour earlier meant NOTHIIIIING. I told the children they can go to any center they want to but I should've known better. PAN.DE.MO.NI.UM.I couldn't take it. magic school bus video kept them quiet for 20 mins as I writhed in pain and thought of how I could get home cause there are more symptoms to the monthly than just cramps and I HAD to be ONLY home for them!

Silent snack time, pack your bags, y'all are going to other teachers classrooms. Then a reading coach comes in the room and sees my suffering. She helps me to the clinic where I actually start to cry from pain. As the contractions subside, I realize it's getting closer and closer for me to be getting home. That feeling is not going away. She walks me to my car and my push start doesn't work. MY PUSH START DOESN'T WORK! I CAN'T START MY CAR TO GO HOME! I take the metal key out and realize I don't know where the physical ignition is!!! OMFG, I just want to go home before I make a mess :-( She didn't drive her car today so now we're back in the clinic trying to find someone to take me home. The science lab teacher is all about it. I hobble to her car and we getting home. I'm moaning and she really wants to take me to the hospital but I tell her I've been here and done this before, I just need to go home. Of course we catch all the lights and as we turn down a side street I beg her to stop and pull over. Anything that wasn't digested due to all the attention down below comes up. I wonder if I even chew my food based on what was now in the grass on the side of the road. No wonder my metabolism is so high, my body works HARD to digest food! *yes these are thoughts between heaves*

We sit and get some fresh air. I feel 50% better. I get home and hit the bathroom for the other symptom. Not awesome. I change into looser pants and a loose fitting tee and pass out in my brother's bedroom, dreaming of who I can get to knock me up and rid me of this monthly curse.

WORD?!

Now granted, I wouldn't stay there for free but... it would've been nice if he offered to make up for our horrible stay!!! RIGHT??

Even more reason why you can't patronize foolishness.

If for some reason I felt my tv balance was too blue at the Westin, please believe something more than a wack ass, generic ass reply would've been given. Shoot, even if I couldn't get another night, I'd get dinner at the Sun Dial! Sheesh!!

Garbage ass motel, you ain't shit...

Two Stars no more

Since our weekend was cut short, (see two posts below), Drew came up yesterday. We hung around the house for a minute; chatted it up with Stan's wifey and kicked it with Russ and Koke. I knew he wanted to stay over but the twin beds in our (the girls) room wouldn't be getting it. Shoot, the double bed I had at the Palm Club was too small for us! Seeing how Drew is 6'2 240+ and sleeps like a starfish, we need a Queen or more.

Wait, is there a difference between a double and a full? I feel like there is...

Anyway, I called up the hotels close by to see where we could lay our heads. Courtyard Mariott was my cup of tea so I looked up the one right by my house.

the reservation agent told me $129. Do I really need to spend that much money just to fall asleep? Nah, maybe next time.

I check the new Mariott Residence Inn that is also down the street... studio style rooms for $149

*sigh*

Okay, there's the Wred Roof In that we've stayed at before. It was actually nice and Drew kept on saying, "let's just go there. I can get a hotel room in south beach ON ocean drive for $170 so why would I pay $150 for one on 45th street?"

True.

I call, I reserve, we check in for $59.

The 1st room smelled so bad. We walked in and walked right out. I don't want the room to smell like phillip morris had a taste test in a sauna. Humid cigarette smoke. no.thanks.

2nd room didn't smell so we took it. I try to sign on to wi-fi and realize I don't have the pin. Call the front desk, "Hi, I don't have a PIN to get on-line..." "Oh yeah, I was supposed to give you a card. Okay, I got one for you *click*" "ummmm... ok?"

I go to the front desk (2nd time) and get my card. Drew and I go get dinner around 6pm and run some errands (walmart, the house, etc) then come back to the hotel. Actually, we were in the MOTEL part cause our door led to the outside instead of a hallway. not a fan. i know that we were there b/c i used my triple a discount and they give crappier rooms to discounted guests.

anyway, we watch family guy and during a commercial, we realize its hot. raggedy ass A/C has it either freezing or hot. really?? in the renovated room?!?

*sigh*

all the water I drank at the new sushi rest drew took me to had my bladder full. i pee, flush and notice that the toilet doesn't flush!!!
REALLY!?!?!? IN THE RENOVATED ROOM!?!?

"Hi, Stace in room 127 again, the toilet doesn't flush" "Really? Okay, I'll be down there"

5 minutes later, Ron comes with plunger in hand. He's working it out in the bathroom while Drew and I are just sitting on the bed looking like, "wooooow..." We hear a flush and Ron comes out triumphantly. "There, its good."

*face*

We finish Family Guy and go to take a shower.

WHY ARE THERE NO FUTHERMUCKING TOWELS!?!?!?!?

No face towels, no bath towels. Just that one you put on the floor to serve as a mat and the two hand towels by the sink OUTSIDE the bathroom!!!!!

AAARRRRRRRRGHHHH!!!

I tell Drew to call this time. "Yeah, we don't have any face or bath towels..." and here comes Ron with TWO towels. Stingy with the towels aren't we?? I don't even bother. I go on my rant about freaking red roof and why this wouldn't happen at a mariott or embassy suites!! Drew tries to play me to be this bougie bitch and I said, "no sir! top shelf only! i settled for this mess and look at what we've been dealing with!!" Mind you, this was after going to the new walmart that is already ghetto as hell. as we were standing in the check-out line, we both concluded that we would drive whatever distance to go anywhere besides walmart. i believed I tweeted that... I threw that back in his face, "Ok, Mr. 'I'll pay extra at publix if I didn't have to smell and see what we did at walmart'!!!" Oooh, your girl was hot!

So I went to sleep. I didn't want to take a shower in a place that didn't even have a fan switch or shower caps.

Woke up this morning, used a towel as a turban wrap and took my shower. I'm looking for the ironing board and iron so I can... iron (lol) and guess what? red roof's monkey-ass, business class, upgraded renovated room doesn't have either. that means I have to leave the hotel that much earlier to go home and either iron or find something else to wear.
i can't
Yeah, I resorted to my staple/back-up outfit: skinny jeans, fitted tee and some badass heels. today's pick (to match the punk ass weather): ash gray tee, dk gray jeans, gray, patent leather, peep-toe d'orsay pumps, holla!

needless to say, as with EVERYTHING in life,
DON'T SETTLE!!
garbage ass hotel...

THURSDAY
I get off of work around 4pm. I'm thinking, "I've packed my bags so we can get on the road asap"

nope. Bro doesn't get to the house till 530 and after all the talking and reassuring (pops is such a worrier although he tries to be the cool one) we FINALLY leaving around 6pm.

*face*

We get to tally around midnight as expected b/c of the time we left, chat it up with Kitty and I hit the sack. Bro drives the car to his fiance's house which is out in the northern part of bumbafcuk, just past 'the hell we at?' population 215.

FRIDAY
I'm soooooooo looking forward to homecoming convocation!! we get up, bro comes over for breakfast, and we're off. I'm looking cute in a cream boat neck top with dark denim bottoms tucked into some flat brown boots. luckily, kitty lives in the neighborhood by school so walking to the gym where convocation is is no problem. we're walking on campus and thinking, "its awfully quiet for homecoming friday... maybe EVERYBODY is in the gym"

yeah, no. the gym is DECKED OUT for the president's inaguration reception following convo. we ask someone in the gym, "where is convocation at?" he tells us, "Lee Hall" (the eqiv of ogden for my REAL HU people). Ok, no worries. another walk across campus and up some stairs and down some hills... we've done this before...

about that Lee Hall?

yeah, no. Doors locked, parking lot empty, tumbleweeds rolling...

*face*

We ask ANOTHER person, "where is convocation this year?" and she tells us, "its streaming live from the Civic Center" (see: colliseum)

Kitty & I did one of those quick, "civic cen-? oh hell naw" That means cars and parking and traffic??... hell naw on that one. we walk back to her house and watch harlem nights. fall asleep on the couch and wait for another friend of ours to come in from daytona.

Trissy comes in, we wake up and go to Yardfest. The dope boy music is in full effect. Not really my scene cause its a whole bunch of baby goons and I'm actually looking for alumni I haven't seen since graduation.

I saw 1. and he's not even my favorite person.

I did see my ZPhi friends of mine but again, they weren't the ones I was coolest with. I asked about their LS friends of mine and none of them made it.

*face*

I didn't see ANY of my favorite people :-( But while on the subject of goons, I saw my sister!! YAY! She was showing too much skin under the pretense of it being "hot" and it took me back to those HU days when we'd have a 73 degree reprieve and I'd bust out the shorts and if it was HOT! Oh, south florida girls slay me. we took a pic

and I kept it moving.
Tris and Kitty had to do some stuff in the bandroom and we went over there, caught up with some drum major homies and then walked back to the practice field where the hundred was playing.

hung out there for a while and went back to kitty's. her family was coming in from west palm and we wanted to be home.

they get here, we catch up, we eat hamburgers cause her pops brought his giant grill and before you know it, its time for night practice. that's when EVERYBODY comes to the field and watches what's going to happen the next day.
Old heads take an instrument from a freshman and show them how to play stand music, sectionals take place, pics are snapped...

its over and we're back at kitty's; calling people up to see what they are getting into. afterall, its halloween and we know there must be SOMETHING going on!

or not.

i'm in bed by 11. on halloween, homecoming friday.

*face*

SATURDAY
Its game day! But before that, one of my fave fierce guy friends (read how you want to) is having a brunch and the mimosas are flowing. If you remember, Bro drove the car to the other side of east madagascar (affectionately known as 'the country'). I have NO way of getting there. I text my sadness and we plan on getting together after the game. After that, Kitty, fam and I start to get ready for the game. I'm crunk cause i'm wearing a long sleeve black tee with my fave jeans, patent leather mary jane flats and a green scarf in my hair. my spring jacket is the prettiest shade of peach so i feel school spirited without compromising style. i mean, a hanes tee shirt is only so fly (sarcasm). i cop these gangsta mirror aviators from a vendor and i'm done!

we're about to walk in when they tell us that students need to go to a gate opposite of where we are... *eye roll* fine. it just so happens that as we're walking, i see my fave professor!!! OMG!!! I start screeeeeeeeeeeeaming cause I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE her!!!!! hugs and kisses and pictures and talking about campaigning and on and on... then I realize kitty is standing there and we have to get going!! the best seats (by the band) will be taken by the time I finish chatting it up! we go, I use mini me's ID and its all good.

We find some good seats close to the section the band is sitting in. Then I see the cheerleaders and go down to get pics of MM. Snap, snap. and I come back to my seat. The crowd goes, "ooooh! someone fell!" Kitty says, "i think SK3 fell" and my heart drops.

"no, that wasn't.... where is she?"

I see the coach and asst, and captains surrounding someone on the ground and I'm looking for my big head sister and her barbie weave... I don't see her! "Ok, where is she? Lord, please don't let that be her!" Kitty says, "Stace, whoever she is isn't getting up and I don't see Steph" I run back down the stands and look. Its my little sister. I toss my camera and shades into someone's hands and hop the bar. I'm kneeling by my crying sister who is complaining about her neck and I ask, "what happened?" the coach says, "she was in a stunt and she fell. she landed on her neck and shoulder"

OMG, please no! I'm shaking and asking MM if she can move anything but the paramedics are strapping her neck and body to a board. she's taken off the field before the pregame show even begins.

we're at the actual ambulance now when Bro joins us on the verge of tears. he wants to know what happened and who her base was; who dropped his baby sister. i know from phone calls every week that her base was the mediocre group.

MM doesn't want to go to the hospital but her neck and back are hurting and we want her to get an x-ray. They take her and she needs a CT scan as well. As you can imagine, the ER on homecoming weekend was NOT the place to be. hella drunks. people all in the hallway on the verge of alc. poisoning.

it takes FOR.EV.ER.

We spent the whole day there.

She has a neck sprain and gets prescribed some rx strength ibuprofen.

The only games we watched was what was on TV.

PWI schools at that.

*face*

Now of course, the game is over so EVERYBODY is on the road. traffic is a BITCH cause like I mentioned earlier, Kitty lives walking distance to campus.

*face*

I was tired from being at the ER all day. I call people to find out what's going on and whatnot, people are paying upwards of $75 to get into the club. yeah no. any other weekend that place is $free.99 so you know I wasn't trying to see that.

I kinda wish I did. It would've been better than what I did...

NOTHING.

Saturday night, I did nothing. Wait, I'm lying.

I ate. I wrapped my hair. I went to bed. 1037pm.

SUNDAY
We go to the vendors and I cop some BOMB obama shirts!! then it's time for church, I go and come back, pack, grab Bro from a homie and we're out.

That was my weekend.

to add insult, FAMU lost.

i did nothing

i lied.

friday night. drew had show in hollywood beach. a tedturner-like person of haiti wanted the band to play at his b-day bash on the beach. it was at a tapas restaurant and ask me if i made it there?

NO!!

I was dead tired in westpalmbeach!!! so pissed cause i ALWAYS miss the good, ritzy shows and make it to the hot raggedy shows!!! case in point, saturday's event.

h.o.w.. haitian org of women was having a banquet?? no, not a banq cause there WAS NO FOOD... *side eye, digression*

in homestead, florida. homestead is about 1.5 hours southwest of miami. if you're thinking mexicans, rednecks, and ten gallon hats, you're right on the money. not that anything is wrong with an agricultural town... it just seemed... anachronistic. yeah. we'll go with that.

do you know how hungry i was, in the middle of nowhere? i would've torn up some griol and rice, i was so hungry. and i had to watch Mani, the 3 y.o boy who belongs to the female singer. hard.headed aries.

oh. they only got a chance to play 4 songs. and they played them super fast b/c the drummer who is a gigger (as opposed to an actual member of the band), had another show and he had to leave by 830. the band was supposed to play at 645...
ended up being 815...
colored people will be late to their own funeral...

on a brighter note, sunday was spent at the park with lena and her son. drew thought he was going to the beach but forgot he lives in south florida on a perfect memorial day weekend. no parking for you, join us at the park. it was nice watching kids play and parents lounge. i did fall off the merry-go-round... twice. drew was pushing mani and he fell off. lena and i told him he was pushing too fast but drew didn't think so. i got on to see...

drew was pushing too fast.
he's like a labrador or great dane puppy playing with miniature pinchers. yeah, we're all 2 months old but you are waaaaaaaay too big and clumsy to play with us. go find a mastiff.

CAN YOU TELL THAT I'M HUNGRY RIGHT NOW? CRANKY AS I TYPE??

Monday was the best. i finish all of drew's dishes (3 day process. soak them bad boys... in chlorox if he had some) and we watch the last episode of dexter. that show is AWESOME!! and totally plausible!! then we're pretty much chillin, went to target, went to lena's went out to eat at this ital. rest nearby... we're watching jeop.rdy when his landlady texts him to come over.

drew is now a daddy!!!

he has a two month old kitten that jane found hanging around her store since friday!! she gave the kitten her lunch of white albacore tuna and snatched her up. seeing how she was 5 cats (emma, mogwai, dude, dipshit, lea) takes care of two strays (groucho and broke-ass kitty [her tail doesn't work]), it was only right for the ONLY person who doesn't have a cat at their place to adopt her! enter, drew.

he hasn't come p with a name yet. she is soooooooooooo little and cute! varying shades of gray in faint stripes all over, but her belly is spotted!!

drew is going to be an AWESOME daddy! you should've SEEN him cuddling and cooing!!! AWWWWWWWWWWWW, IT WAS SO CUTE!!!!!
just don't ask him about names. b/c she's gray, he said, "tungsten".

i don't like him sometimes.

i'm back!

OMG, it took me FOR EV ER to figure out what my user name and password were!! apparently, since i now have gmail, its a whole new log-in process.

i hate beta.

now onto some news!

so, i've been placed for my spring semester.. so excited b/c i have 2nd graders and they are the BEST 7 & 8 year olds ANYONE could ask for!!! OMG, I am SOOOOO enthralled by my class of 17 students and my teacher is BOMB too. No lie, I hope I can be like her when I grow up. So biting her style come August 2007. Not only that but we are soooo similar!

her initials were SK before she got married and now she's SS. Jameil and Toni, y'all may know where I'm going with this.

she drives an Altima, I drive an Altima

she curses like a drunk sailor, and guess what I do????

it was funny when she dropped a narrative chapter book and exclaimed, "Awww! Sons of bitches!! Damn it!!!" (I just say, "BITCHES!") If you know me, when something minor happens, I act like its the end of the world. I dropped my PENCIL in the parking lot and my homegirl Kitty thought I lost some money the way I was acting. I didn't get ketchup with my hashbrowns from Mc Donald's one morning and Jameil found it amusing that I was more pissed my breakfast was dry and not that I had lost my plane ticket home and had to buy a new one. yeah.

so yeah, internship is BOMB AS THE FUCK! too excited about EVERYDAY. what I don't like is having to be there no later than 715am even though school doesn't start till 8am. my teacher, who reminds me of OLD rosie- not the VIEW Rosie- is an EARLY bird. I'm a morning person but not that morning. sheeeeet.

for the writing activity, my directing teacher had the students write about Ms. Kutieboots.

Today a new teacher came to our classroom. Her name is Ms. Kutieboots. She is training to be a teacher. Being the first day, she introduced herself. She is going to teach us. She came from Tellahassee. She is a nice teacher.

P.S. another one of my dreams has come true. i got a thing for musicians right? i want to be a muse, i want to be backstage, i want to be where they are. well, a couple of months back, my last boo told me he wrote a song inspired my me. too thrilled! its called "get it" or has that phrase as the chorus...i forget.
now
dreezy is playing t-bone with him this weekend in Orlando and guess who gets to come along???
*CHEESING*
