so back in the early FAMU days, Kitty and I would road trip to the A. When a city like ATL is only four hours away, you'd be remiss to miss a classic... or six flags... or the warehouse... or random ass weekends. she had a cousin who lived out west, douglassville or something? All i know is that he went to doug high and it took FOR-EVER to get into the city. That's why for the longest time, i hated Atlanta. Nobody actually lived IN ATLANTA! Everyone lived in the "greater atlanta area" whatever the case, everytime we went (like 3 times a semester!), the minute we see the atlanta skyline; the minute we see that gold dome of the capital building, the minute we see that round ass hotel that is HEAVEN on Earth (the Westin)... we put on a beat and start freestyling.












I kid you not, we would throw some southernplayalisticadillacfunkymusic, some 85, even some throwback fat rabbit and go to work. We'd talk about georgia peaches, how we gon climb on top of the capitol and steal the gold, what we're going to do in the Westin, which bitch we'd hit with a bottle, *sigh* good times.

is being absent minded equal to a lack of discipline? I forgot to post yesterday. but he's the kicker, i posted comments! so i wason blogger real hard but i forgot to post! Waaaaah! I need a neck transplant; one that will keep my head attached!!!

Thanksgiving. The last one i remember liking was 2004. that's when i cut all my hair off for the 1st time. well i cut it the following day... 2005? Don't remember. I know who I was with in school but I don't remember what was going on. not significant enough. 2006 was the fiasco with the lady from my church not opening the door and coming back to a fight with my brother. here we are at 2007. I'm going to get my hair braided after school and then head over to Hollywood. This should be an interesting holiday.

Mom invited Drew and I over. weeks ago, I asked drew what he wanted to do. "A quiet dinner at your place sounds cool; I might bring Lena". It was going to be me, drew, Kitty and her new man, Mayflower (who she broke up with yesterday. *sigh*). ast week, Kitty said she doesn't want to cook annymore and she's going to her parents'. great. I told drew and he made plans for us to attend his friend's seafood thanksgiving. These are the people I see and watch football EVERY SINGLE SUNDAY. A whole bunch of white people with drew being the youngest (27) the next youngest? 34, then 40+ year olds. They are fine with me but I wasn't planning on not being with family this year. I don't know. i feel tension coming up cause mom thought we were coming over by default. i asked him what his sister is doing and "she doesn't have a cell phone right now so we haven't talked" "can you e-mail her andrew? Andrew! I want to hang out with your sister sometime, she's cool and she invtied me to dinner. Don't get in the way, don't push her or this converation aside, Andrew. make it happen by the time I come back" I'm going to ask about her later.

I woke up pissed. I have an attitude. what;s today's date? does the moodiness of PMS come 2 weeks before the bloodbath?

OMG, my oldest and youngest aunties on my dad's side came from England for the wedding! and they brought their daughters; the oldest and youngest grandchildren :-) My pharmacist cuz Sarah is 32 and baby Gifty is 11 months. we took some awesome pics! I love my cuz's accent which is a mix of Ghanian and British. So cool! Waaaaaaah! Where's my cord!? i want to show my dress!!

okay, today, i'm wearing my new tweed boots. i know its real extra but they are cute.

oh yeah. i went to get my face waxed and decided on a polish change yesterday right? (just my eyebrows and chin guys) i got this color that i like to call "plum skin". its so dark and looks soooooooo fabulous! OMG, i thought I was going to be a strictly red or french mani chick but this is the shit. i can't wait to go to the reception and show my nails off :-)

in science, we're learning about the Earth and its processes. yesterday, i asked, "how does rain come from the sky and into our lakes, rivers, and oceans?" thinking they'd look at the picture of the big book and say, "run-off from mountains Ms. Kutieboots" (or something along that line... i don't think they know what "run-off" is), most of them said:

"rain is when someone does something bad and God cries"

or

"God is watering his garden"

So today, it felt like Fall. You know why? Maybe its cause its actually Fall but S. Florida just got the memo. They say its a cold front but why can't it be the season is changing?
woke up Saturday morning to get some crossiants right? stepped outside with a tank top and shorts... sooo had to go back in for the hoodie and pants. it was 67 degrees and before y'all up north hoes jump down my throat, it went from 88 the day before to 67. not a good look. it of course warmed up to 83 and that has been the trend. I like Fall down here. I text my homies in Tally to see what the weather was like and D said, "45 degrees but its going to warm up." keep telling yourself that.

wow, that was only last year...

she had just come to the conclusion to end a toxic relationship, her brother was a bastard child, on top of any and everything else that could go wrong. the only saving grace in that Spring she'd like to forget was her then best friend who said he got her something for her birthday. he didn't know what to get cause it was btwn sirius satellite radio in her car or an iPod nano. Granted its been over a year but guess who just got her iPod? and not just any iPod but the TOUCH!!!

i'm back to TOLERATING it. why don't we shoot for locks this x-mas break? and speaking of x-mas break, who told the year to pass by so fast!?!?!? i STILLL can't freaking believe we are in November. Like all up in November, not the 1st or 2nd but damn near the second week of it!! Football is already in its 10th week!!! INSANE! This year went by at light speed!!!

i realized what a wonderful world we live in today. i was a bit upset today cause a main pvc pipe broke underneath the playground i take my students to everyday. thinking i had to take them in and not get their energy out, i remembered about the big playground across the way. we trudged over there and it was so worth it. there are three slides and all of them are slippery/fast. how do i know? i slid down the highest one but lets not forget that i
- hit my elbow so hard going down slide
- almost fell down trying to run to keep my momemtum from the gravity + slippery slide + tweed pants
- got static shocked the whole way down FROM aforementioned pants + slippery slide
- almost broke my ankle cause my new BCBG patent leather/peep-toe/d'orsay stilletoes planted their heels in playground turf which is like rubber asphalt.
i would say peer pressure is a bitch but them lil niggas are 5. and mom had a FIELD DAY laughing at my ass limping back to the chair. whatever, the most precious moment that was one of ZEN was when the children were playing and having a wonderful time. i had to take a picture with my camera phone and make it my wallpaper. I closed my eyes and heard them giggling, I saw Bradly go down the slide backwards, I felt the Florida breeze on my skin, smelled the grass, and could taste being a kid again. I love being a teacher :-)

YES!! All through the day, I'm like, "oooh! i have to post that!" something a kindergarteners says that i find so cute or powerful... they are so smart and its adorable how innocent they are.

I was listening to Mis-ed of la hill, who by the way is preg with her FIFTH child from that Marley boy who's name I like (rohan) and I wanted a forum about love in my class. So I asked, "What is love? There are no wrong answers, i just want to hear what you think"

another thing one of my kinders said that I found tooooooo cute! J is my smart one. he knows all his letters and sounds, numbers, colors, days of the week. during social studies when we were studying needs and wants, he said "we need tvs! ms. kutieboots!! how are you going to watch the news if you dont' have a tv?!?! you don't watch the news?!!?"

i lied and told him I do. i couldn't have this kindergartener showing me up!!! anyway, when making letters with play-doh, he made a giant J and used his thumb to "measure" it. it was "37 engines long!!!" not inches, but engines :-) he's so cute! OMG, on hat day, he wore a fitted. but you know that fitteds (if you're from NY or Jerz) are the OPPOSITE of fitted. he's a lil cutie from NY whose yankee's hat was waaaaaaaaaaay to big; just like they like it :-)
