- amy winehouse is the shit! i have both her albums on the good ole iPod shuffle and I'm LOVING the first record 'Frank'. I think its better than 'return to black' which is, if you listen, almost copying motown. its still all good and better than whatever is out right now but if you like RTB, you'll ADORE 'Frank'
- i got a part time job at CVS. its at the same sopt i got my first job 8 years ago. the volume has died down TREMENDOUSLY so i won'tbe attending anger mgmt or breaking down and crying out of frustration from unruly customers
- my principal called me into her office for an informal chat about next year. she wants me on board at a 3rd grade teacher.
hol up. i'm a primary chick (K-2). she's sees me as a superstar who could do wonders in 3rd grade. its actually an honor for a 1st yr teacher to get offered a testing grade (FCAT) as their 1st year so... i'm getting geeked. plus, the 2nd graders i have now will be what next year? 3rd graders! thinking about looping...
- my trip to the zoo with kindergarten was soooooooo presh! they are sooooo adorable! i wish i knew how to upload vid cause i got some clips. i love being a teacher :-)
- Dreezy and i are grrrrrrrreat! he's so bomb. makes me want to laugh my head off at all the other fools. scoff and guffaw at them. ha HA! I stand victorious! that's how i feel :-)
OMG, he LOVES my hair! he thinks its bomb when its wrapped. you know you have a non black BF if you show up with your hair wrapped and he thinks its done. honey? this is a wrap. its what we black women do BEFORE BED. its not a hairstyle. take me to liberty city and see who's amazed. no-one. it is not a style. he's amazed when its not done and spellboud when its freshly relaxed. got the shit done on thursday and he LOVES how its roller wrapped and seemingly shorter. his fave? the swoop bang over one eye. LMAO!!!! short hair and long nails and the boy is good to go ;-)

So we went to Key Biscayne for the Arts Festival there and it wasn't all that.
more for old people. cross the bridge back to mainland florida
and walk to the arts park walking distance from Dreezy's house. it was the grand opening at Young Circle and the whole weekend was full of festivities. you know the flute player who played for ron burgandy in anchorman? the 'yaz flute'? nestor torres was soo there on friday night! and what you saw will ferell do in the movie was EXACTLY how he moves!!!! he was BOMB as was FIU's jazz band. also, this miami artist, romero britto, unveiled a piece for the park. it was sooooooo nice! the weather was great and the vibes were good!

haters wanna hate
so this weekend, didn't quite make it to an official fest but i did stumble upon st. patrick's day event in the middle of downtown hollywood. i have no pictures of that because i was walking home (dreezy's) from church. i was actually upset that i had green on cause i felt like i was patronizing the occassion. one time i pinched my dad cause he wasn't wearing green and he said, "does the irish man wear kente during february?"
damn pops. ole hater.
i did get some pics of us hanging out in a friend's backyard. we grilled (again) and enjoyed company on a lovely sunday afternoon. y'all should really move down south and wear tube tops and sarongs in March.
damn stace. ole hater
P.S. Jameil, why did this boy BUY fruit salad, hold up a freaking piece of cantaloupe and prove that he was right?
such a bitter loss. the only melon i eat is watermelon, sorry i didn't know the correct color! daaaaaaamn!

Marley Fest *updated with links*
so this weekend, Dreezy and I were watching the Saturday morning news show when we heard the International Chocolate Fest was in Miami from 930 till whenever. Bet. it was 8am, we could make it!
NOT!
went back to sleep, I woke up at 10 to watch 'That's So Raven' and he was still knocked the fcuk out. we FINALLY got up around noon, went to Aventura Mall for some sushi and headed to Bayfront for the 14th An Bob Marley Fest. HEADACHE trying to get in! security were some bitches, talking bout Dreezy (who does he think he is in this shot???) should park downtown and carry his keys in. ummmm? that's 98lbs. let him in and once he sets up, he parks somewhere else. nope. we had to wait for Johnny to come with the pass.
waiting in the car
Johnny and the rest of the band show up and its still a headache but whatever. we get in, they perform with Mikey (the drummer's son who EVERYONE thinks is me and Dreezy's) I hang out backstage the whole night, we went to the Hypnotiq VIP section for an hour, got me an Empress shirt designed by a Marley and we don't move our cars till we left. PRIME PARKING! mind you, we got there around 3 and left around 1130
so yeah, the show fest was BOMB!! I've never been and missed out when Erykah and Lauryn used to to come but it was still cool! it was str-8 reggae acts for the first time, with the exception of Mr. Cheeks who is an unofficial marley... he was wack! his last song was sooooooo 'Lights, Camera, Action' from '01!! anyhoo, i had a BLAST taking pics and seeing all the acts UP CLOSE! Gentleman is FINE and fiyah! Capleton is FIYAH as is Sizzla Kalonji! Believe it or not, we didn't stay for the Marleys. Too many of them. later found out they did a long set together but whatever. they all aren't talented. my fave one (stephen) has no stage presence. the most famous one (ziggy) is losing his touch, damien... never really felt him. I like his one song that was on red star sound vol 1 and there is another one who performed on a late show the other day... WACK song! sounds like dave chappelle's parody of dylan on making the band. anyhoo, here are some pics
i don't know how to rotate on here... just facebook.
